“The National Dog Trainers Federation aims to provide a channel of communication for all dog trainers, breeders and pet owners resulting in education and mutual support.”
The Canine Management & Control Program has been specifically designed with the role of By-Law Officers, Vet Nurses, Kennel attendants, in fact any profession that deals directly or indirectly with dogs in mind.
It covers a detailed introduction to canine psychology and behaviour and will provide the skill knowledge to enable personnel to deal with a wide variety of situations.
When dealing with, or handling dogs, your personnel need to be able to assess a situation and decide on the best course of action available to all concerned. This situation is even more critical if the dog is fearful and/or aggressive.
Our Canine Management & Control Program will provide the training necessary for individuals to be able to conduct their job in a safe, confident and effective manner.
At the conclusion of this course, the participants will have covered areas such as:
üPsychology of behaviour
üCanine communication
üReaction thresholds
üUnderstanding dominance behaviour
üAggression - types and causes
üFear and phobias in dogs
üPredatory instinct/behaviour
üWhy dogs attack
üTreatment of behaviour problems
üHandling & control of dangerous dogs
üBasic veterinary & canine health care (optional)
